Why do patients who are given placebo pills report that they
feel well? These pills have no healing capabilities. They get
well purely because the power to heal came from their beliefs.
They were told that these pills contained the disease-fighting
ingredients that would effectively cure them - and they believed
it. The belief embedded within their subconscious became real.
So can you see how powerful your mind is? You can do anything
that ...

When you learn to read faster, you will be able to understand
the meaning of what you read objectively and subjectively.
I am sure that you have heard or probably seen similar maxims
such as, "Haste Makes Waste", "Slow but steady wins the race".
Well I agrees that there are elements of truth in such maxims
but it may not be really as applicable in all endeavors.
Especially in your quest with Speed Reading!
When it comes to accelarated reading, the facts have proven

'In life, if you give yourself a concession, you'd take it'
-Alvin Poh
As part of my exercise regime when I was younger, I made it a
point to have a run around my neighbourhood as often as I could.
Although when I say 'as often as I could', it usually meant only
once every week, or none at all. But I was still proud of the
fact that I ran. The route was pretty tough for me, with slopes
and small hills, and finishing every run gave me a sense of
accomplishment and made me feel healthier and ...

Information is flowing to us at a great rate. The radio,
television, the internet, advertising, newspapers and magazines
are giving us information all day. We also receive information
from the people we associate with in our daily lives. This
article discusses some of the ways that our minds, both
conscious and subconscious, process and use that information.
Our conscious mind is active whenever we are awake. Within the
conscious mind are the abilities to think and reason. However,
just ...

If you think you CAN, then you can and if you think you CAN'T,
then you can't. It's that simple. Our state of mind can be the
most determining factor in the achievement of our goals. People
who think positively are more likely to achieve their goals than
others that think negatively. Since our state of mind can either
spur us into action or it can make us admit defeat or just gives
us the excuse we need to give up at the first sign of an
obstacle.
The difference between a successful person and ...

The transformation that is taking place in Americans' attitudes
toward mental health is very exciting. Of course, as an
astrologer, I see this as the result of Pluto, the planet of
transformation, moving slowly through the polar signs of Gemini
and Sagittarius. These two signs deal with the workings of the
mind.
One of my clients devoted her life to a study of the mind. When
she was in high school, she fell in love with a very nice boy.
His parents were against the liaison because she was not ...

If you're like me, you probably get a massive number of email
offers each day. Because of this great growth in the volume of
email, you'll need to find some way to distinguish your email
sales message from those of the competition. In order to make

information that they can use. This information should ...

Lectio divina is a very useful and practical discipline for
spiritual growth. Rooted in ancient monasticism, the practice is
a fourfold cycle: Reading, Meditation, Prayer, and
Contemplation. In fact, the term itself means 'sacred reading.'
Reading. Lectio divina begins with a 'text,' whether that is the
Bible, a spiritual classic, something in nature, or even another
person. You must 'take up and read.' But the reading is not done
to acquire knowledge or information, to master the text. ...
